Musicians' Health Scotland is a website for musicians, performing artists, dancers throughout Scotland. It gives information on clinics held by Patrice in Glasgow for the management and prevention of playing-related health problems.
Appointments available within 24 to 48 hours of first contact. Assessment and return sessions last 45 to 60 minutes.
Appointments will cost £50, but funding schemes and special rates apply for students and for musicians with financial difficulties.
Online video consultations are also available, and cost £40.
Treatments are provided by Patrice Berque. Patrice is a chartered physiotherapist specialised in
the diagnosis and treatment of musculoskeletal disorders and injuries affecting performing artists, especially musicians. He is also involved in academic research in the field of Performing Arts Medicine, and in health promotion and prevention of playing-related musculoskeletal disorders. He has presented his research work at international conferences in the UK, Canada, and the USA.
Patrice set up a Musicians' Clinic in 2002 in Glasgow, with the help of the Musicians Union Scotland (MU). Since then, he has treated many amateur and professional musicians with playing-related health problems.
Patrice is a member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP), member of the Musculoskeletal Association of Chartered Physiotherapists (MACP), practises acupuncture, and is registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). Patrice is also a Senior Physiotherapist with more than 10 years experience in one of major NHS hospitals in Glasgow.
The clinic is registered with all major health insurance companies, including
AVIVA, AXA PPP, WPA, CIGNA, Standard Life.
